Ibuza Momochi (イビサ・モモチ, Momochi Ibuza) is a shinobi of Konohagakure and the clan head of the Momochi Clan. He was a former ANBU of Kirigakure, he along with the Momochi clan was convinced to join Konohagakure by his daughters resolve to defend and help Naruto. Ibuza is also the father of Zabuza, Ao, Kibō, and Aira Momochi, and husband of Chi-Chi Momochi.

Background[]

Ibuza was born in Kirigakure, into the Momochi Clan. Not much is known about his childhood as he doesn't speak of it. Ibuza was really talented as he entered ANBU at age 9. Around the time of the third shinobi world war, Ibuza gained a reputation as the Devil of the Mist or the Headhunter of the mist. He later became clan head of the Momochi clan and married his childhood sweetheart Chi-Chi.

Later the two had four children, Chi-Chi was killed by Konoha ANBU, which caused Ibuza to become so cold, and ruthless.

Personality[]

Following his wife's death, Ibuza became cold and heartless. He pushed his children to become the ultimate weapon and unstoppable killing machines on the battlefield. Ibuza was cunning, cold and bloodthirsty on the battlefield. He was known for his ruthless fighting style and brute methods. Ibuza showed little care or remorse and even shed a tear or care when he learned from Aria that Zabuza was killed in the Land of the Waves, instead stating that Zabuza was weak and didn't deserve the Kubikiribōchō.

Deep down Ibuza did love his children, after Aira explain her love and care for a Konohagakure shinobi and that she would win in the Chūnin Exams. He was secretly proud of his daughter, he and his clan actually went to Konohagakure to secretly watch his daughter. And when Oto and Suna-nin invaded, he actually defended his daughter from Kabuto however he stated it was because Kabuto had no honor and had to be put down like a dog. Its revealed that after Tsunade became Hokage, that Ibuza had somewhat changed his view one Konohagakure, after he and the entire clan relocated from Kiri to Konoha, however, he stated it was because he hated Mei's methods and found her to be a rotten Kage.

He openly disliked Tsunade but stated that the Momochi clan was loyal to whoever wore the hat unless it was an idiot then he or she would be removed. He still had some hatred for Konoha as he disliked Sakura and Ino calling them "Pinkie Banshee" and "Blonde Loudmouth."

By the start of the 4th Shinobi World War, he changed his views completely after coming to terms with Chi-Chi's death he and the entire Momochi clan joined the Allied Shinobi Forces and fought on the front lines. Later on, during the new era he had "retired" as Clan head, he was not as ruthless as he was but still had a temper as he constantly broke his computer and yelled at Boruto every occasion he got.

Appearance[]

Ibuza had pale skin, jet black hair that jetted out on one side. He also had blue eyes and wore a black shinobi body armor with metal wrapped around his elbows and a light blue trench coat. A trademark of the clan the lower portion of his face was covered by bandages. He wore a blank forehead protector around his forehead, and a Kirigakure later Konohagakure forehead protector around his neck and fingerless gloves. He wore baggy grey pants, with bandages wrapped around his legs and black standard shinobi pants. Kurīkumashetto was sealed in a scroll, when not sealed he had it strapped to his back.

A trademark of most of the seven swordsmen of the Mist, he had sharp shark-like teeth. Later on, during the 4th Shinobi World War, his attire hadn't changed expect he now wore a black forehead protector around his neck with the kanji "Shinobi" (忍) printed on it also Kurīkumashetto was strapped to his back at all times.

In the New era, his appearance hasn't changed except for the fact he is blind in his right eye, due to fighting his wife, and he now has a scar over his right eye. He wears a customized modern shinobi battle armor that only covers his chest and legs, and a light blue cloak over it.

Abilities[]

Ibuza was highly skilled and ruthless in his fighting style and quest for power. He is highly skilled in Kenjutsu, Ninjutsu, and Taijutsu making him extremely dangerous in combination with his ruthlessness and cold-blooded nature. He was also very cunning and intelligent and is able to quickly come up with contingencies in case a planned route of attack fails. Ibuza like the rest of clan possed strong chakra, so strong that it actually took the form of a demon.

Physical Prowess[]

Ibuza was very strong, despite his age was a capable fighter and was able to lift Kurīkumashetto with ease, as he was seen resting with it on his shoulders for long periods of time. He was fast enough to outrun many Oto-nin and was proficient in taijutsu he was able to take down several hundred White Zetsu Clones with ease. At the same time, he showed remarkable levels of stamina and endurance, able to continue fighting effectively despite wounds he received from a reanimated Chi-Chi.

Ibuza being the inventor of the Silent killing technique was master of stealth, his skill was passed by his children, in particular, Ao, Zabuza, and Aria Momochi. He was also known for his brutal, silent decapitation style assassinations which earned him the nickname the Headhunter of the Mist. It is noted the slightest breath or twitch of an eye was enough to alert Ibuza to his victim's presence.

Ninjutsu[]

Kenjutsu[]

Ibuza was highly skilled in Kenjutsu, during his time as a Kiri ANBU one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist he was noted for his rapid and brutal fighting style which consisted of lunges, overhead strikes, and aerial attacks he also favored launching rapid lunges at an opponent to disorientate them and cause their guard to weaken. He also wielded the bloodthirsty Kurīkumashetto which had the ability to split in half when needed. It is an oversized, longword with a split down the middle of the blade and a long handle. Like most swords of the seven swordsmen of the mist it can heal itself from the blood of enemies. Ibuza has been noted to be able to kill multiple opponents with a single strike

The weight of the weapon doesn't slow Ibuza down as he could employ it in combat for extended periods of time with no visible strain on himself. Apart from handling it very skillfully, Ibuza could also throw it spinning at several enemies with enough power to lodge itself into a tree trunk or break through walls. He also wielded a kunai with a sharp protrusion on one side (which in the anime is Kirigakure's variation of the standard kunai), designed for thrusting and stabbing instead of slicing, which fit his stealthy attributes perfectly.
